What a great time with Dave Grayson, who we endearingly call Doc.
Doc is one of those people that you just rejoice when he is around. Kind, grateful, compassionate, empathetic, very smart and engaging.
Doc is dyslexic and discusses his conquering this, and the fact that he has done everything he has has wanted to in life, from teacher, to Principal, to radio announcer in Chicago, to being a magician, and an expert in Handwriting Analysis.
Doc has battled with diabetes the past few years, and although they keep giving him an estimated date of passing, and he accepts this, he said it appears the other side is just not ready for him yet. Two years later he remains with us, blessing us with his wisdom and kindness.
What a great journey. A gem to have on our Podcast!
We were so pleased and honoured having our great guest Steve Samblis who is transforming people through collaboration and sharing not only people by becoming a part of his amazing series of 1 Habit and sharing their Number ONE habit, but also inspiring others to find a new habit they may not have thought about through others authoring their most important ONE.
We met Steve through Forbes Riley, who is a part of the 1 Habit For Entrepreneurial Success – Simple Life-Changing Habits To Transform You Forever. LaurieAnn is a contributor along with several of her colleagues. Why? Because we see the value in being a contributor and writing out OUR 1 Habit, as well as being able to provide a new view of why? Because even if 100 people have the same 1 Habit, each person has a story behind WHY.
And yes, LaurieAnn started by messing up calling it Habit 1, but in her mind HER FIRST Habit is making her bed. To start the day, and enjoy crawling into it at the end of the day because she has completed what she set out to do. 🙂 Whether you call it Habit ONE or ONE Habit, it starts with ONE.
Known as the Cash Cab Guy… but let’s peak behind the curtain… There is more to this story.
Adam embraced what he already “had” and re-inventing himself from “live” to “online” quickly. Not withstanding, it was with a great learning experience. From mounting his phone sideways, to his family laughing through the vents.
Are the “Gens” and “Millenials” laughing at us “older people”? (we agree they might be, but we are doing it! So keep laughing, we like to see you smile. )
Adam shared with us his wonderful humility, as most Canadians do, but also a great outlook on seizing opportunity, how he did it, and sharing his humour from start to finish that is contageous.
How did we find Adam? LaurieAnn watches The Cash Cab – and to be clear, LaurieAnn is Canadian, and Roy is American ( and yes, she is a fan… something that Adam has a word for… what may be fandom? Listen to find out), and sometimes LaurieAnn watches the recordings again to make sure she gets the answer right the second time. The attraction of the show? As Adam explains, it is meant for co-viewing. Although LaurieAnn lives alone and her dogs don’t have the answer, she does contact Roy with the trivia question and see if he knows the answer (Kind of cheating because she knows the answer, but still fun). So in a sense, there is the after co-viewing experience as well.
Beyond that, LaurieAnn “Fandom??”
That’s me, LaurieAnn. I am speaking for myself and not Roy. After inviting Adam on our Podcast, yes, being a Cash Cab Guy Fan, I did research and watched his comedy routine. I will speak to my experience of having seen a couple of television personalities who I really like, but their stand up comedy was not as appealing… Adam’s is funny and impressive. I recommend you check it out!! Not just the Cash Cab Guy by any means. So much more behind the curtain.
Our sincerest thanks to you, Adam, for your time. There is so much more in this interview than in this short overview. And more smiles. Enjoy the listen.
